Product Engineering

Our product engineers are the masterminds that bring the entire process together. By working closely with either our in-house industrial designers and client design teams, they create a plan that will bring your product to life.

Design Collaboration

Our product engineers don’t just regularly meet with our in-house industrial designers, they sit in the same room. When the industrial design is created in-house, that designer stays involved in the product development process in to the engineering phase, providing feedback on the client needs and design aesthetics when necessary. This means that our clients know that the mechanical product design will match the industrial design they loved, and creates a smooth process for everyone involved.

Technical Feasibility

Planning a great looking product that meets all of your design specifications is only half of the battle. The product needs to physically work and be manufactured in a cost-effective and efficient process. A Brooks Stevens mechanical engineer can determine if the product design meets standards to be technically feasible, and provide corrective action if necessary.

Engineering Analysis

Once the mechanical product design has been created, it needs to be put to the test. Through a variety of analytical tools, the Brooks Stevens team is able to determine how your mechanical product design will respond once in the hands of your consumers.

Brooks Stevens has the following testing capabilities:

  • Finite Element Analysis (Ansys)
  • Structural / Thermal / Modal Testing
  • Flexible Dynamics
  • Multi-Body Simulation
  • Explicit Dynamics
  • Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFX)
  • Design Optimization
  • Materials Study
  • Dimensional Analysis (CETOL)
  • Engine Analysis (GT Power)
  • Data Acquisition Systems
  • Noise, Vibration & Harshness (NVH)
  • Microphones – Sound Mapping & Analysis
  • Sound Pressure Meter (Db Levels)

Finite Element Analysis

Do you need to test how your product would perform in various, high-stress situations, but would like to avoid the added cost of creating multiple, highly-detailed prototypes? Our product engineers are experts in finite element analysis, a computer simulation that allows you to identify weak points in your design based on high-stress situations.
