Milwaukee, WI – Brooks Stevens, Inc continues its support of advanced education through active participation with the next generation of designers, engineers and even entrepreneurs.

In September, Douglas Carpiaux, Director of Industrial Design and Scott Micoley, Program Manager donated their time as guest lecturers to students at the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design. With over 40 years of combined industry experience, Doug and Scott provided valuable, “real world” insight on the business side of product development, focusing on the quoting process, company structure and client relationships. Four weeks later they returned to MIAD with Meghan McGuire, Industrial Designer  to provide insight on the recruiting process and to critique student portfolios.

In between those two visits, Douglas also found the time to give two presentations on ethnographic research within the product development process to engineering seniors at Marquette University.

Meanwhile, our Principal, George Konstantakis, PE visited the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s Lubar School of Business. There, George inspired students in the entrepreneurship program with his personal approach to business and a history lesson on the great entrepreneur, Brooks Stevens himself.
