UPAF “Ride for the Arts” 2013

Continuing its support for arts in the community, Brooks Stevens, Inc. sent a team of bicyclists to take part in the United Performing Arts Fund’s annual “Ride for the Arts.” One of the nation’s largest one-day recreational bike rides, this year’s ride attracted more than 7,000 cyclists including four from BSI. In its 33rd year, it has generated over $8 million for the UPAF and the 30 performing arts groups and affiliates it supports in Southeast Wisconsin.

This year’s team embarked upon a 25 mile route along the Lake Michigan lakefront in rainy conditions (quite the adventure).  The route took them over the Daniel Hoan Memorial Bridge and through Lakeshore State Park, the only urban state park in Wisconsin.   They went over the river and through the woods…Alas, they never made it to grandmother’s house.

We were proud to join the 260,000 plus riders who have participated in this event since its inception in 1981.
