Jumping Right In!
Brooks Stevens, Inc is known for user-centric new product development and product design. Our Researchers, Designers, Engineers and Model-Makers roll up their sleeves and immerse themselves in our clients’ product and in the lives of the end-user. Often times, our team becomes the end-user to truly experience a product’s use, form and function. Attending construction cab driving school, using power tools, laying on exam tables, applying lip balm, walking with rollators, and pushing baby strollers through crowded stores are just the tip of the proverbial iceberg when it comes to project immersion.
It’s this hands-on approach to new product development that inspires me as Marketing Coordinator when I am representing Brooks Stevens at trade shows. Sure, I am networking and building relationships with clients. But, I am also experiencing their products! I have curled up in a bathtub (fully-clothed) at the Kitchen and Bath Industry show. I have aimed but not fired machine guns and cross-bows at the Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Show. I have eaten my weight in snacks made by food service equipment at the National Restaurant Show. I have used drills and tillers, relaxed on a CT Scan, sat in the captain’s chair of a big rig, had a meeting on a motorcycle, etc.
Maybe I am not designing your next product but I am seeking to understand your needs – first hand!
