Milwaukee, WI – Clear skies and sunshine made perfect conditions for the Industrial Designers Society of America-Wisconsin’s inaugural Soap Box Derby sponsored by Brooks Stevens, Inc. The event proved that designing, building and racing in your own Soap Box cart isn’t just for Boy Scouts anymore.
Friendly competition was shared by teams from BSI, Milwaukee Electric Tool, GE Healthcare, and others. In a sleek cart that showcased our brand with superior design that you can expect from BSI, we drove to triumph and earned two trophies! We can enjoy bragging rights as the 2011 Milwaukee Soap Box Derby Hot Rod Winner (divisional winner) and for winning the 2011 Milwaukee Soap Box Derby Championship Cup (over-all winner)! This good, clean fun was not in vain; proceeds benefited IDSA Wisconsin and The Philippine Center Free Medical Clinic of Wisconsin.
